Birds in Hawaiian History and Culture

Please join presenter Dana Bollin for her presentation that will give an overview of Hawaiian birds throughout culture and history, the perils the remaining species face, and what an average birder can do to help. Dana has assisted in bird banding operations at Black Swamp Bird Observatory for nearly 30 years. She became interested in island biogeography and how this relates especially to the islands of Hawaii more than 10 years ago. In 2010, she initiated a series of visits to the islands to assist several organizations who promote conservation through research and management.
