Join us as Matt Anderson talks about the long and colorful history of the Toledo Christmas Bird Count (CBC). The count started in 1927 and is arguably the premier CBC among Ohio’s sixty plus counts. Lou Campbell was the Toledo compiler for an amazing run of sixty years and handed the reigns to Matt in 1992. In ten out of the last eleven years, Toledo has led the state in the number of species found. Toledo also holds the two highest-ever counts in the state…by a wide margin. Interesting and surprising trends and statistics will be highlighted, sprinkled with some neat history and humorous anecdotes.
