Seen Any Isidia Lately? An Introduction to the Lichens of Northwest Ohio

If you want to see lichens, step outside! You won’t have to go more than a few feet–maybe you’re stepping on one! Lichens grow year-round, through summer heat and winter cold. We’ll show you a variety of shapes and features that highlight the distinctions among lichens.

Janet Traub and Jim Toppin will present this fascinating program via Zoom, on October 15, 2020, at 7 pm EST.

NOTE – The Ohio Division of Wildlife’s 80-page field guide “Common Lichens of Ohio” is a great resource, and it’s free. You can download a PDF at https://tinyurl.com/OhioLichens. Printed copies are available at some park offices and nature centers. Also, we have about 50 copies and we can mail you one if you send your address to jtoppin@frontier.com.
