The Oaks Summer Bird Count yielded 110 species last year. We’ll try to at least match that number again, but more importantly, simply enjoy a day of birding in the Oak Openings. The day will start at 5 a.m. at the McDonald’s on Airport Highway for breakfast, some strategizing, and assigning of territories. Everyone will then spread out over the count area for a fun day of birding with their group. Birders are then invited to join the countdown at Local Thyme in Whitehouse at 2 p.m. Contact Brandon Brywczynski at 419-944-3951 or brandon13@roadrunner.com if you would like to join in the fun (RSVP not required, but preferred). If you are interested in being a group leader for the count or plan to do any owling, please contact Brandon before the count.
