Did you know woodpeckers’ brains have special shock absorbers so they don’t get brain damage? This comes in handy in February when woodpeckers are actively drumming. We are fortunate to have 7 different species of woodpecker right here in Northwest Ohio. This year were going to see which species we can turn up, and hopefully we’ll get a glimpse of Norther America’s largest, the pileated woodpecker.
