Pearson 1/2:I got there before sunup to do owling. I heard a BANO’s scream. It responded to my cell phone’s bluetooth connection mated with my JBL speaker system. It came from the area of the headquarters/maintenance compound. I looked for it but couldn’t find it visually. I’ve found EASOs and even a NSWO once at the compound, but GHOWs don’t hang around there. I wasn’t able to make it back there until 3 days later. I played BANO sounds but got nothing. Playing EASO elicited 2 distant calls. It might not have made a difference if I came back sooner because the weather changed that very night of the 2nd. Historically BANOs were at Pearson before they tore down the horse stables. I’ve talked to people who saw them. But that was back in the 50s. They didn’t know about after that time. For me, it made numb. 257 for my Pearson bird list.

Other good birds on the 2nd were TUSW (fly-overs) and HETH (heard call). Other good birds on the 5th were SSHA, YBSA, and GCKI. Combined, I found 34 species. If only we could have done this well on the CBC.
