Anyone interested in owling, contact Tom Kemp (see contact information above). Meet for breakfast about 6:45 a.m. at The Buzz restaurant on Rte. 64 in downtown Whitehouse. Field groups will leave from there. A countdown will follow the count.

Count Area: Grand Rapids, Waterville, and Whitehouse

This count covers the Oak Openings area, the banks of the Maumee River, and the Swan Creek Valley. The center of the count area is at the corner of Heller and Stiles road in Whitehouse. Woodland areas include Oak Openings Metropark and the Maumee State Forest. Many areas of the river include rapids, so open water is the norm for this annual Christmas Count. Owl numbers can be very good in the forest areas.
