    In mid-afternoon a male MERL flew over the Pearson sled. hill. It didn’t look like it was trying to migrate. PIWAs (2): 1 near the old evergr. nusery and 1 near the Scotch pines s. of the soccer field were getting a bit on the late side. On a non-av. note it was interesting to encounter grasshoppers, a Red Adm. butterfly, a dragonfly (brown/tan head and thorax with a red tail–unsure as to sp.), and a Leop. fr. in mid Nov.
